National Independent Bookstore Day @ BookTree

19 Western Washington Booksellers (including BookTree) are celebrating a day of independence!   We'll have special limited edition things to purchase, a few things to give-away, first-come first serve limited supply of free and $ 1.00 to $5.00 items,  authors visiting and signing books throughout the day, and more!    Whether you are visiting several stores or just a few, drop in, browse, support BookTree with a purchase of a book, gift certificate or just by telling people you know about Kirkland's only new and gentle used independent book store!  Get to know and support your independent book stores!   

Authors, Book-signings, Readings, activities, contests, surprises! We have quite the day lining up with people like Children's Author Laurie Ann Thompson in the store to do some activities w the kids and sign some of her books; Y.A. authors Janet Carey and Sharon Mentyka, Romantic-Thriller author Carmine Valentine; Adrienne Ross Scanlon author of the beautifully written narrative non-fiction Turning Homeward: Restoring Hope and Nature in the Urban Wild. And at 4:30 p.m.several members of the Nasty Women Project will be in the including Chris Kelly from San Diego and others from Oregon and various parts of Washington State. They are the grass roots organization that just put out the Nasty Women Project Book and all proceeds from the book support Planned Parenthood.
