A&C (Alex & Chris)

Alexander Smith has lived in the Seattle area since 1989, having grown up in southern California. He is the proud father of three grown children and currently resides in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.

His poetry dates from the mid-1960’s to present. A longtime participant and sometimes featured reader at open mic venues like North End Forum, Hugo House, EasySpeak Seattle, Poetry Bridge, Duvall Poetry and a sit-in with the 52nd Street Band, Alex plays harmonica and has developed a harmonica/poetry style to add to his spoken word.

His poetry trends toward lyrical, ironic, self-referential free verse with inherent buried rhythms and rhyme.

He has recently been known to add some Harmonica to his recitations and sometimes accompanies poet/writer/bookstore owner Chris Jarmick. So time for a tandem reading. Two poets, taking turns reading poems a few serious ones, mostly not.

Christopher J. Jarmick - owner of BookTree bookstore in Kirkland, Wa. since 2016. Poet, writer, impresario/host/organizer/rabble rouser/movie snob/former careers in the entertainment industry, also as a financial advisor, technical writer, editor and more more more. Books include 2015's Not Aloud (poetry), mystery thriller: The Glass Cocoon, contributor to several recently published anthologies (ask if you dare).
