Let’s Celebrate Lesley Wheeler’s Seattle reading debut (and new book) with a special evening at BookTree on Wednesday Evening October 22nd. Lesley’s 6th poetry collection is Mycocosmic published by Tupelo Press in March (2025). She lives near Lexington, VA. And is in town for the WA fungi festival on the Olympic Penninsula (her book has several fungi/mushroom poems). Lesley is also the poetry editor for Shenandoah. What a treat to be able to schedule her appearance and reading at BookTree (609 Market St. Kirkland, Wa. 98033).
Bio: Lesley Wheeler writes poetry, fantasy fiction, and creative nonfiction. Her sixth poetry collection, Mycocosmic, runner-up for the Dorset Prize, appeared from Tupelo Press in March 2025. Her novel of dark academia, Unbecoming, appeared in 2020 and was called “an excellent feminist fantasy” in a starred review from Publisher’s Weekly. Her writing has been supported by Bread Loaf, the Sewanee Writers Workshop, Fulbright (New Zealand), and the National Endowment for the Humanities, and her poems and essays appear in Poetry, Best American Poetry 2025, Poetry Daily, and Poets & Writers. Poetry Editor of Shenandoah, Wheeler is the Henry S. Fox Professor of English at W&L University in Virginia
