Do you love reading, chocolate and tea time? On Saturday, June 20 at 4pm, join us for a very special cozy community gathering at the BookTree, Kirkland's flagship indie bookstore.
The event will feature artisanal chocolates from Fortunato Chocolate paired with LizzyKate teas! You'll learn about the three Kirkland businesses while enjoying chocolate samples. In addition to tasting the chocolates on their own, you’ll have two teas to pair with the chocolates. The teas will be either mild caffeine or caffeine free herbal blends.
Next Adam Pearson will talk about his book, Finding Fortunato, which details how his family discovered a rare variety of cacao called Pure Nacional in the remote jungle of Peru in 2009. You’ll learn about the many steps it takes to craft the chocolate from cacao trees in Peru to the amazing treats in their shop.
There will be time to mingle and shop for books at the BookTree. Adam will be signing his books. Fortunato and LizzyKate will have chocolate and tea available to purchase.
This is a ticketed event and limited to 30 people. The $30 ticket price includes a small goodie bag with a $10 BookTree gift card and samples of tea and chocolate. (See below for link to secure reservations OR stop by Fortunato, LizzyKate or BookTree to do so in person.

About Adam Pearson: Adam is the owner of Fortunato Chocolate and author of "Finding Fortunato." He is dedicated to sharing world-class, unique, and exquisite Peruvian chocolate with a global audience. As a successful entrepreneur, he takes great pride in the growth and success of his family business.
About Amy Riffle: Amy is the owner of LizzyKate tea shop located in downtown Kirkland since 2016. She completed the Professional Series Level 3 at the Specialty Tea Institute and is a STI Certified Tea Specialist. Amy lived in Japan for 4 years and Japanese teas are some of her favorites.
About Chris Jarmick: Chris owns BookTree bookstore in Kirkland (since 2016). He is a writer and poet with several published books and has hosted workshops, and readings for 25 years. BookTree is the only new and gently-used independent bookstore in Kirkland.
