4:24pm Free Writing workshop led by Benjamin Schmitt - an informal workshop including prompts for you to do a little writing (bring pen and paper).

6:15 pm Featured Reading with Pamela Hobart Carter & Benjamin Schmitt followed by Open Mic – get up and read poetry or very short prose.

We gather and share. A welcoming group of regulars welcome fellow writers and poets, listeners, and the curious. First timers always encouraged.

Bios:

Benjamin Schmitt is the Elgin Award-nominated author of five books, most recently Satan’s School for Girls and Other Works (Goldfish Press, 2026). His writing has appeared in Sojourners, Antioch Review, The MacGuffin, Sensitive Skin, Hobart, Columbia Review, The Seattle Times, and elsewhere. A co-founder of Pacifica Writers’ Workshop, he lives in Seattle with his children.

Pamela Hobart Carter’s first full-length collection, "Earth at Perihelion," 2025- MoonPath Press was second runner-up for the 2024 Sally Albiso Poetry Book Award. Her e-chapbooks "Only Connect" (with Robert Raynard) and "Behind the Scenes at the Eternal Everyday" were Yavanika Press mixed-genre winners (2024 & 2023). She has two other chap books: "Her Imaginary Museum" (Kelsay Books) and "Held Together with Tape and Glue" (Finishing Line Press). Her poems have been nominated for Best of the Net and The Pushcart Prize. Carter is also a prize-winning visual artist and playwright. She grew up as a landed immigrant in Montreal and now lives in Seattle
